Wakaresaseya (literally "breaker-uppers") is the nomenclature or slang for Japanese businesses that specialize in destroying relationships (i.e. breaking things off with a mistress, getting a longtime employee hanger-on fired, etc) through role-playing, bribery, and blackmail. As of 2002 about a dozen of such firms were known in Osaka and Tokyo.
