[edit] Autobiographical entries

I'm hoping you'll find my article to be worthy of being listed as, indeed, an article. It contains only factual information, free of "vanity" descriptions. It's intended as a chronological bio of my career as a journalist. I'm listed on the various search engines multiple times, in connection with my work.
Thanks for your consideration.
-Joey Wahler

Mr. Wahler, my personal opinion is that you may well be sufficiently notable to warrant an entry. But the fact that you've authored it yourself invites a high level of scrutiny. It will likely receive that scrutiny during a deletion review (see WP:AFD). To understand why, it might be helpful to peruse WP:AUTO, particularly the part that reads:

Creating or editing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

Hope this clarifies things. Welcome to Wikipedia!! --Pleather 04:19, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
