William Glyndwr Edmunds was born in 1947 and is a notable Welsh educationalist. Wil was appointed Principal and Chief Executive of Coleg Ceredigion and brought that college through a transformational financial recovery in 1996. He then went on to serve as Principal and Chief Executive of Deeside College until 2005 when he then became Chair of the Curriculum, Qualifications and Assessment Authority for Wales and went on to serve as an advisor to the Minister of Education at the Welsh Assembly government. Wil was awarded the OBE in 2001 for services to Further Education in Wales. He retired from public life in 2008. Wil's college was the first FE College in Wales to receive the highly sought after Queen's Anniversary Award in 2002. A music graduate of the University of Leeds studying at Bretton Hall he also holds a Master's degree in Social Psychology from the University of Liverpool.
