The Vršac fortress was first mentioned in 1343 as Érsomlyó. In this time Louis I of Hungary was the king and it was a royal fortress. You can find the part of the truth here. Panonian, please don't write stupidities. Bendeguz 20:14, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

The source that you provided do not mention this what you claim, please provide some relevant sources. According to my source (Dušan Belča, Mala istorija Vršca, Vršac, 1997.), Turkish traveler, Evliya Çelebi, wrote that the fortress was built by the Serbian despot Đurađ Branković. The fortress of Érsomlyó/Érdsomlyó was built in 1335. Source: Györffy György, Az Árpád-kori Magyarország történeti földrajza, Akadémiai Kiadó Budapest 1987 (third edition). (Geographia historica Hungariae tempore stripis Arpadianae)

And my source (listed in the article) claim exactly what you deleted from the article. Please do not delete things that you do not like - both theories could be here, right? PANONIAN (talk) 02:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
