Vladimir Shumeyko

Vladimir Filippovich Shumeyko (also spelled Shumeiko) (Russian: Владимир Филиппович Шумейко) (b. 1945, Rostov-on-Don) is a Russian political figure.

In November of 1991, Vladimir Shumeyko was appointed chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation. In June of 1992, he became a first deputy prime minister of the Russian government and held that office during the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993. Shumeyko held the post of the chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia between January of 1994 and January of 1996.
