Vivekananda Degree College (Also known as "Vivekananda College of Arts, Science & Commerce" or "VC Puttur") is located in Nehru Nagara, about 3 km north-east of the city Puttur of Karnataka state, India. This college is run by Puttur Education Society (PES)[1].

Established in 1965 by a private organization "Puttur Education Society", this college is providing Bachelor's Degree education to students from local places Puttur, Uppinangadi and remote places. The college is named after the great saint Swami Vivekananda in recognition of his exceptional work in spreading the wisdom not only across India, but also across the world. Swami Vivekananda was one of the most famous and influential spiritual leaders of the philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga.
The visionaries and members of 'Puttur Education Society' behind the origin of this college are Molahalli Shiva Rao, Baindoor Rama Rao, Dramastala Manjjyya Hegde, Rao Bahadur Raghunatha Rao, Baindoor Prabhakar Rao, Jnanapeeta award winner Dr Kota Shivarama Karanth, and Sri K Rama Bhat. There are many other members of 'Puttur Education Society' and individuals responsible for the continuous growth and success of this college.

The admissions, based on the availability of seats, are open for everyone who has completed their Pre University Course(also known as PUC) or any other course that is considered equivalent by the Mangalore University. Those seeking admission to B.Sc. requires to be graduated in PUC in Science. Those seeking admission to B.Com., requires to be graduated in PUC in Business Studies and Accountancy or PUC in Science. Those seeking admission to B.A requires to be graduated in PUC, preferably PUC in Arts.

Vivekananda College campus is spread over an area of about 45 Acres located in Nehru Nagara approximately 3 km from the city of Puttur. A beautiful statue of Sri. Swami Vivekananda is situated at the main entrance of the college campus.
- Academic Building

- Library
College library is located very close to the academic building. The library is free for students and faculties and allows them to take home library materials on a schedule system base.
- Hostels
Boys and Girls Hostels are available at a very subsidized price for students from remote places.
- Play Ground
The college has one large play ground for sports, games and athletics needs.
- Free lunch scheme
To encourage education to students from poor financial background, the college committee provides free lunch to applicable students.
- Vivekanda College Employees Co-operative society
The campus also includes a co-op society providing school supplies at a reasonable price and a bank to support savings accounts for needy students.
- Health Center
A P.T.A sponsored Health Center is available for emergency medical requirements and regular medical check-ups. The health center doctors are rendering free services.
