[edit] History
Vistek (derived from the company's slogan, "The Visual Technology Experts") began its operations in 1976 as a studio rental and strobe lighting consulting business operated as a sideline by Toronto commercial photographer Ron Silverstein. Other products followed and the sales and rentals business grew. The business evolved into one that supplied professional photographers with a wide array of the latest professional equipment and the expertise to provide solutions for commercial photographers in the Toronto area.[1]
In addition to professional photo and video equipment, Vistek carries a wide range of amateur photo equipment and consumables from printers, computers, point and shoot cameras and camcorders in the market.
[edit] Imaging Community
Vistek serves a broad-based Canadian professional imaging community that includes professional photographers, multimedia companies, small businesses, government organizations and national institutions, as well as everyday individuals purchasing prosumer and amateur cameras, equipment and supplies.
Professional product lines include Nikon, Canon, Leica, Hasselblad, Mamiya, Rollei, Phase One digital backs, Elinchrom, Profoto, Speedotron, Chimera, Lastolite, Arca-Swiss, Cambo, Gitzo, Gary Fong, Lowepro, Sony, Panasonic, Epson, Apple, Lacie, Adobe, Wacom, SanDisk, and more.
