[edit] Summary
The hydraulophone is an acoustic musical instrument that is also a water fountain, played by blocking water jets. Since it's impractical to bring printed sheet music into a water fountain (even plastic laminated music is still a nuissance), the most practical approach is weatherproof outdoor-rated electric eyeglasses. An instrumented hydraulophone can also function as a hyperinstrument, with appropriate interfaces, etc..
Live performance, Christmas Concert, 2006 December 17th, at Deconism studio/gallery, on 45-jet acoustic hydraulophone operating at approximately 20 gallons per minute, with cybernetic hyperinstrumentation.
