Vineet Nayar

Vineet Nayar is an Indian businessperson, IT executive, and the CEO of HCL Technologies.

Vineet Nayar was born in 1962.[citation needed] Nayar received his engineering bachelor's degree from G.B. Pant University in 1983. Nayar received his business management degree from XLRI, Jamshedpur in 1985 and joined HCL as Senior Management Trainee (SMT) from campus.

Vineet Nayar handled various roles in sales and marketing for various HCL group companies - HCL Finance, HCL Investments and the HCL-HP venture over the first seven years of his career. Promoted five times in these seven years, he was appointed as the general manager for Strategic Group Diversification in 1992. As part of this role, HCL Comnet was formed to address the network service market. Nayar was nominated as the CEO of HCL Comnet in 1994.[1]
