A vinculum (pl. vincula) or mesotendon is an anatomical ligament that limits the movement of an organ or part. Vincula carry small nerves and blood vessels to soft tissue and add support for attachments of the flexor digitorum superficialis and profundus tendons to the intermediate phalanges and distal phalanges, respectively.
