Vincent Gotti was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1952 to John Gotti, Sr. and his wife, Fannie. He has four brothers John Jr., Peter, Gene and Richard. He is the uncle of Gambino crime family mobster Richard G. Gambino.
Vincent is not a "made member" of the Gambino crime family like his brothers, but he was known to associate with them in their Mafia affairs at times. He has held several odd jobs over the years. In 1987 Joseph Delmonico, an associate of the Gambino family, was elected to hold the position of Local 23 Business Organizer. Delmonico, proceeded to appoint various relatives and associates of well-known organized crime figures to shop steward positions at Local 23 job sites, including Vincent and Peter Gotti.[1] Vincent also held a position at Turner Construction during 1991.
