[edit] Time Zone

The time zone controversy shouldn't be in the introduction. I could see it being worth while in a section later in the article, but Vincennes can be summarized quite nicely without ever mentioning what time it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.109.54.114 (talk) 23:05, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

As an Illinois resident who lives near Vincennes, IN, I can assure you that time zone is a central issue an encyclopedia should address concerning this town. I agree that it shouldn't be in the introduction, but it really needs to be addressed in the article. Just now I spent 10 minutes trying to track down a valid answer to what time it is in Vincennes, and it was nearly impossible to find a reliable answer. Even the Vincennes, IN page said it was EDT (-6 UTC), which is also wrong because EDT is -5 UTC. Wikipedia does have a page on the Indiana Time Zone controversy, but that is not necessarily the first place a user would look. Intreverend (talk) 20:32, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Blue flash roller coaster

Does anyone think it should be added as an attraction?

Probably. It received significant attention in blogs. However, the articles I read about it did say that he built it for himself and his family. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 15:21, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Someone told me that if you call his house, the guy who owns it can schedule a day for you to come and ride it. I think it could be added.

I also think the Blue Flash roller coaster might deserve its own article. It has gotten significant attention and is an attraction.

Yes, someone should add it to the Attractions list.

[edit] Sentence fragment in the introduction

Can we rewrite this to be a bit more readable? I presume this is talking about the Alices, but that's not a certainty given the way it is currently written.

1923 and 1981 IHSAA State Basketball Champions. 2002 IHSAA State Baseball Champions.

[edit] Capt. Vigo

I'm adding some lines. Someone forgot to mention the Italian Captain Francesco Vigo (1747-1836) from the region of Piedmont, whose financial assistance and services were absolutely fundamental and allowed General George Rogers Clark to conquer Vincennes. In southern Indiana a country is named after him. Jack 18:30, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Going Down?

My World Book 1984 list the population at 20,857, what's up? moving to suburbs?

Actually, the opposite is true: As fewer jobs are available in the area, people are moving to the bigger cities in the state. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.211.228.204 (talk) 03:05, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
