Vikus Corporation is a private Human Resource software and consulting company headquartered in Chattanooga, TN. They provide the Vikus Selection and Placement System (V-SPS) over the web to aid in employee recruitment, applicant processing and selection, and total talent management.

[edit] Company Background

Billy Mullins, President and CEO, formed Vikus in 1999 from earlier elements of consulting and computer assisted hiring systems that he had been involved with since 1994. From the company’s inception, Vikus has provided a different kind of HR systems and consulting business; one that went beyond tracking events and automating existing processes, to systems that capture and analyze information throughout the personnel acquisition process. This focus on the vital and often labor intensive area of selection and placement proved to yield improvements in the ability to make better, faster, and more consistent hiring decisions.

Prior to 2002, Vikus provided their core product as a computer application installed on individual computers in customer facilities. As demand for the product grew, it became difficult to install and update the software on each machine, and this drove Vikus to search for a different method of distribution.By 2001, the Internet had been identified as the ideal vehicle, and in 2002 a web-based version of the Vikus software was made available to Vikus' customers. In 2004, Vikus became SAS 70 Type II compliant in order to continue increasing the professionalization of their internal environment.

Vikus now offers its online Selection and Placement System (V-SPS) in a “Software as a Service” (SaaS) business model. The aim is to link corporate goals and objectives with systems and procedures by providing real-time operational metrics, enabling consistent and informed hiring decisions, and implementing a streamlined paperless system.
