[edit] History
Vigilante was originally Iván Muñoz (vocals, sequences and guitars) and Rodrigo Ramírez (sequences). They formed a musical project that joined their passion for electronic, metal and industrial, with a strong and direct message.
Their first album, The Heroes’ Code, was released in 2005 on Twilight Records in South America, Black Rain Records in Europe and Irond Records in Russia.
During 2005, Mario Chacana (electronic drums) and Rodrigo Albornoz (guitars) joined the band, greatly enhancing their live shows. In the same year, Vigilante obtained national and worldwide recognition for their sound, and live performances.
In mid-2006 Vigilante suffered some changes in the band line-up. Drummer Mario Chacana and guitarist Rodrigo Albornoz left the band, due to a conflict in ideals with Iván Muñoz. After to this change, it was decided that the band would abandon live electronic percussion. Mario Salgado then joined as a live guitarist, giving the band 3 members.
It was with this line-up that Vigilante began their first European tour, taking them to Spain, Netherlands, and Germany. In Germany, they participated in the 2006 Wave-Gotik-Treffen Festival, one of the most important and notable music festivals in the world.
In July 2006, Vigilante released the Jucio Final Maxi CD on the German label Black Rain Records. This EP included various remixes, and for the first time, songs from The Heroes’ Code sung in their native language.
At the end of 2006, co-author Rodrigo Ramírez quit the band, giving Iván Muñoz sole responsibility for Vigilante. After several auditions, Vigilante found new live support by incorporating Lucía Ponticas on keyboards and Daniel Duarte on guitars.
Vigilante have released their second LP, A War Of Ideas, in November 2007 which was followed by a second European tour.
