"The DMZ spanned the whole width of present-day Vietnam (several hundred kilometres)..." I'm no expert on this subject, but this seems wrong, e.g., http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/vietnam/map.htm - I guess I'll "fix" this, but if some expert knows how to better explain this, please do so.
