Victor Velculescu

Victor E. Velculescu is a Romanian doctor and scientist. He is Associate Professor of Oncology at The Johns Hopkins University.

After graduating from Stanford University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, he enrolled in the M.D./Ph.D program at The Johns Hopkins University. Velculescu and his team gained international recognition after identifying the genes that cause breast cancer and spine cancer.[1] His objective was to reveal the genes that cause cancer and find out when they become active.[2]
