Victor Ikechukwu Abiamiri (born January 14, 1986)[1] is a defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He formerly attended the University of Notre Dame.[2]

[edit] Early years
Abiamiri graduated from the prestigious Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland.[3] Coming out of high school he was rated in ESPN's list of the nation's top 100 players[4] and 1st on The Sporting News Hot 100.[5] He was a four-year letter winner in football and captained the team his senior year, as Gilman finished ranked number one in the state and captured their fifth straight MIAA "A" Conference Championship. After his high school career, he played in the 2003 U.S. Army All-American Bowl alongside fellow Notre Dame Fighting Irish players Brady Quinn, John Carlson, and Tom Zbikowski.

He was rated the fifth best defensive end in college football for 2006 by The Sporting News. In his college career he posted 189 career tackles, and 21.5 sacks.

He was a Reserve lineman who played in his first season and was named a Rivals.com honorable mention Freshman All-American. He played in all 12 games and started 5 of them.[6] He had 1 quarterback sack and made 22 tackles (16 solo) and four of them were for loss.

He played in every game and had 15 tackles (9 solo), 6 for loss, and 2 sacks.

He started all 12 games at defensive end. He was Notre Dame's Lineman of the Year as voted by the Moose Krause Chapter of the National Football Foundation. He was also one of 10 players selected to the team's leadership committee by a vote of his teammates. He finished the season with 48 tackles (34 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 8 sacks and one forced fumble.

He made 43 tackles, 15 tackle of them for loss, and had 10.5 sacks. After his impressive senior year he was selected in the second round (57th overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Abiamiri was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
