IMDb profile

Vicky Cristina Barcelona is an upcoming 2008 film by Academy Award-winning director Woody Allen. The title was announced by The Hollywood Reporter on October 19, 2007 [1]. This is Allen's fourth film in a row to be shot outside the United States and his first to shoot in Spain. The film was shot in Avilés, Barcelona and Oviedo.

In 2007 there arose a controversy in Catalonia due to the film being funded with public money: Barcelona's city hall is providing one million euros and the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Autonomous Government) half a million — 10% of the film's budget.[2]

This film reportedly features a sex scene between Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson, as well as a threesome between Cruz, Johansson, and Javier Bardem, who plays Cruz's husband in the film. [3]

The film premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in May, 2008.

[edit] Cast

The Spanish actor Joan Pera who has dubbed Allen's voice in his previous films has a cameo role.[4]
