Esteban Peñate claimed to have encountered a UFO in 1974 at the age of 15. During the incident he says he experienced paralysis, which categorizes the encounter as a Close Encounter of the Second Kind.

Esteban Peñate lived with his parents in a farm named La Borralla, located in Huelva, Spain, some 8 kilometers away from the border with Portugal. His family was responsible for monitoring of the farm.

Neither Esteban, nor his parents remember the exact date of the encounter, but they know it occured during the summer of 1974.

During the evening, Esteban walked towards a tree located in an orchard, a kilometer away from his house, to collect some packs of cigarettes.

When walking back home, he felt a strong heat and looked up. He then saw a big, round, and intensely bright blackberry-colored object. He also noted that the bright UFO didn't illuminate anything around it. Esteban attempted to escape, but was unable to move, though he could see, hear, and feel.

His paralysis lasted for the next ten minutes, during which time he heard no sound in the area and noticed that the UFO didn't move.

While the UFO started to move and fly towards Portugal, Esteban recovered his movements and runned home.

[edit] Aftermath

During the night of the counter, Esteban could not sleep. The next day, he went to the spot were the encounter occurred, but was unable to find anything strange. However, the superior part of the tree where the cigarettes were left was yellow-colored. The same applied to a pear tree nearby.

A few days afterwards, Juan Peñate, Esteban's father, encountered another spaceship with the same characteristics as the one seen by his son.
