Vessagiri

Vessagiri is located about half a mile south of Isurumuniya, in a mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Scattered are 23 caves made of stone. Above the caves are inscribed the names of donors. These are the oldest inscriptions in Sri Lanka written in Brahmi script.
