Vert skateboarding is a term used to refer to skating on a vertical ramp that is a larger version of a halfpipe. Many people use vert ramps in trick skating as well as vert skating. You can perform lip tricks, grab tricks, and other types of tricks on a vert ramp, some of which you wouldn't be able to do without a vert ramp.
Famous vert skateboarders include: Shaun White, Tony Hawk, Jake Brown, Danny Way, Bucky Lasek, and Bob Burnquist.
Vert skateboarding is used in lots of competitions. These competitions start anywhere from your own local skatepark, to even the X Games which star and show on live television.
