Radio Broadcaster Vernon Harwood is a BBC Local Radio Presenter.

[edit] Early Career

Harwood first joined the BBC in the 1980's as a reporter.

He originally presrnted BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Breakfast show in the early 1990's.

[edit] Leaving Gloucestershire

He then left BBC Radio Gloucestershire in 1996 & joined BBC Radio Oxford's & BBC Radio Berkshire's merged service, BBC Thames Valley FM as their Breakfast show host.

He remained on the show until 2000 when the station de-merged & became Radio's Oxford & Berkshire once again.

From then on, Harwood joined BBC Radio Wiltshire & helped set up BBC Radio Swindon in 2002.

Harwood re-joined BBC Radio Gloucestershire in late 2002 & once again took over the Breakfast show. A position he held until September 2005, when Mark Cummings took over the slot.

Since September 2005, Harwood has been heard presenting a 2 hour Sunday morning show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire. The show now goes out every Sunday morning from 9-12 noon & he celebrates the county & surprises the audience with new facts about familiar locations.

In addition to that, he can heard covering for various presenters on the station & he also be heard covering presenters on BBC Radio Oxford & BBC Radio Berkshire
