Verda Bryant

Verda Bryant (b. January 28, 1910) is best known as an American author with numerous works focusing on making scriptures easier to understand.
She is the author of Between the Covers of the Book of Mormon, Between the Covers of the Doctrine and Covenants, Between the Covers of the Old Testament, and The Short Book of Mormon, all originally publishing by Herald House Printing.
She, alongside her husband, Stele Bryant, established ReLaDaSa Tour Company leading tour groups through hundreds of countries of several decades. She has visited 179 different countries, including Israel on ten different occasions. She has also shook the hand of the King of Jordan.
Her husband, worked in the graphic design office for the Community of Christ, then the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he designed the third church seal used by the church for 10 years in the 1950s.
Verda is the oldest continuous member of the Stone Church congregation of the Community of Christ. She has attended consistantly since the 1940s. Ms. Bryant was among the first females ordained by the Community of Christ in the 1980s. She delivered a sermon to the Stone Church congregation in celebration of her 97th birthday in 2007. She oversees Gather Inn meetings, which provide activities and gatherings weekly for Senior Citizens in Independence, Missouri, typically held at the Stone Church.
She and her husband had two children, Blair and Barbara.
