Talk:Vernon Lee
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Having just read two long stories by Vernon Lee, I have to say I can see why she has fallen into obscurity! Rambling, tiresome stuff written in a poor imitation of Edgar Allen Poe, they were both about women who take possession of others' souls, and not what we would call ghost stories. Give me the economical and quietly thrilling stories of M.R. James any day! His crown rests securely on his distinguished head! Les Gillard 17 June 2007
