Venson Hamilton (born August 11, 1977 in Forest City, North Carolina)[1] is an American-Spanish professional basketball player from the USA currently playing with Real Madrid Baloncesto in Spain.
He was selected 50th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1999 NBA Draft, as an alumni from the University of Nebraska. He holds school records for blocked shots (241), and rebounds (1,080), surpassing the previous record by nearly 300. He ranks ninth on the school's all time scoring chart with 1,416 career points. He shot 52.7% from the field throughout his career. He has dished out 164 assists, and compiled 186 steals. He is a graduate of East Rutherford High School in Forest City, North Carolina.
He was named the Big 12 Player of the Year during his senior season of college. His 335 rebounds set a new school record of rebounds in a season. He was also named to the conference's All-Defensive team.
