Venable LLP

Venable LLP is a law firm formerly known as Venable, Baetjer & Howard LLP. It was founded in Baltimore in the post-Civil War period. Today the firm maintains 6 Northeastern offices and specializes in patent litigation, labor and employment law and white collar investigations. Venable employs nearly 600 attorneys.

Long a Baltimore-based firm, in 1999 Venable merged with Washington, D.C. based Tucker Flyer. It began to actively seek out and win mandates from companies with government contracts as well as emerging enterprises in the Northern Virginia's Dulles Technology Corridor. Venable secured a launch in New York City in 2005 through the acquisition of litigation boutique Heard & O'Toole.
