[edit] Macedonian alphabet

Hey man, do you have a source for the addition you just made to Macedonian alphabet? I'd not read that before. - FrancisTyers · 15:13, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Veni 19:13, 11 August 2006 (UTC) :

Yes, I do. My Grandfather was one of the creators of the alphabet. Venko Markovski. He wrote it in a book, "Blood is thiker than water" (Kravta voda ne stava in Bulgarian). Here's the part from it (in Bulgarian) that describes it:

It says that the first commission implemented the so-called "R-goliama" (the leter Ъ), they've removed the "r-malak" (ь), they accepted the "s" for "dz", and they've created two new letters. But this alphabet was vetoed by Alexander Belic and Milovan Djilas in Belgrade.

[edit] Macedonian Alphabet revision

Hi Veni :) I have tried to redo the Macedonian alphabet entry, but before I post it I want to make sure it's not too controversial or wrong. I have tried to keep it very neutral and stick to the alphabet (and not get into the whole Macedonian v Bulgarian debate), but if you have any other information -- especially about the committees which formed the alphabet -- that would be great. I am not Macedonian/Bulgarian/Serbian, so any errors are made in good faith and/or ignorance!!

I'd be interested to get your comments about the new article, I have the draft at User:AWN2/sandbox.

Cheers, AWN AWN2 03:20, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Veni, How is the updating coming along? I am going to try and post the article soon. Do you have any references for the bit about Milovan Đilas and Edvard Kardelj and them wanting a less Bulgarian-style alphabet? Cheers AWN AWN2 07:02, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Go ahead and publish it. Refer to my Grandfather about Djilas/Kardel. Veni 02:58, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
