Velika planina

Velika planina is a mountainous plateau (about 1,500 m above sea level) in Kamnisko-Savinjske Alps in Slovenia. It is well known for spacious pastures speckled with wooden shepherds' huts built in typical ancient architecture. Nowadays the huts are no longer used only by shepherds, but also by tourists. For its magnificent landscape Velika planina is a favorite hiking spot of many Slovenians.
