Veksø

Veksø is a small town located between Ballerup and Stenløse in Egedal municipality near Copenhagen on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. There are at precent c. 2,000 inhabitants.
The town is on a hill, surrounded by meadows and swamps on all sides.
A pair of bronze horned helmets from the younger Bronze Age(dating to ca. 900-1100 BC) were found in the swamp Brøns Mose just west of Veksø during peat digging in 1942. See illustration [1].
Also about 1942 a small bronze statue of a "goddess" (dating to c. 500 BC) was found in a swamp just east of Veksø, see illustration [2].
