[edit] Abbots in retreat

The article correctly reads, "During this time Buddhist monks remain in a single place, generally in their temples." If, however, you visit a Thailand Theravada wat or monastery during Vassa, generally you'll NOT find the abbot or head monk {TH: เจ้าอาวาส or เจ้าวัด} as he is taking his Rains Retreat at some other monastery where he is more junior. This is particularly true if he has made significant improvements at his own wat the previous year. I cannot add this to the main article as I have neither published references nor knowledge of how wide-spread is the practice. Can anyone help? Pawyilee (talk) 11:40, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
