Varina High School is located in eastern Henrico, Virginia. The current principal of the school is Tracie Omohoundro. [1]
It is the home of the Center for Communications (CFC), one of the Henrico County's eight specialty centers open to all students county-wide.[citation needed] The CFC is a program in which students learn to master oral, written, and communications skills.
[edit] Renovations and Construction
To help with overcrowding issues in Henrico County, and with another delay by the school board to build another high school, the school board recently approved $47,011,180 for a new middle school, renovation of Freeman High School, and a 6 classroom addition to Varina High School. Also, the school is building 2 new fieldhouses and extending the existing weight room that is used by Sports teams as well as Physical Education classes. The expected completion time period is in October-December 2008.
