Vanity URL
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A vanity URL is a domain name, typically created by a company to point to a specific product or advertising campaign microsite. In theory, vanity URLs are creatively linked to a product or ad concept and easier to remember than a company's general domain.
Examples of vanity URLs used by brands and locations:
- HSBC "Local" Ads: yourpointofview.com (on airport jetways)
- Starbucks Holiday 2006: itsredagain.com (on takeaway coffee cups)
