Vanilla Gorilla is an upcoming directed by Terry Loane, currently scheduled to be released in February of 2009.[1] Vanilla Gorilla tells the story of an albino ape, who communicates to a young girl after learning sign language.[2]

Vanilla Gorilla is about a little girl from New York who befriends Gogo, the world's only living albino gorilla. Through sign language they communicate and bond, and the young girl’s resulting trans-African quest to return Gogo to the wild puts callous poachers, determined newspeople, and one very troubled parent on their tail.[3]

The film began principle photography in early 2008 in South Africa. Shooting is expected to wrap in the early fall.[4]
