Van Vechten Veeder

Van Vechten Veeder (b. July 4, 1867, Schenectady, NY, d. December 4, 1942, New York, NY) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Judge Veeder received an education at Columbia University and the University of Virginia and read law in 1890. He was nominated to the court by William H. Taft on January 13, 1911, to a new seat created by 36 Stat. 838, confirmed by the Senate on January 26, 1911, and received his commission on January 26, 1911. His service terminated on December 31, 1917, due to resignation.
