[edit] Current whereabouts of Vanspor
Does anyone know if Vanspor is still active? The club last played in the premier division about 7 years ago if I remember it right by heart, but since then I read different things. Last time I saw their name appear, they were in 4th or 5th division, but on bigsoccer.com's messageboard there was a Turkish person stating they'd have folded... It's very hard to verify what is right, as the club has no official site but also no supporters site. It would seem bizarre if they are not active at all anymore. Van is no metropolis but still a big enough city and regional centre, so there should be possibilities to develop a well-supported football team. Closest teams now must be Samsunspor and Erzurumspor, but those are quite far away and not evident for Van citizens to support. Nocturnal Me 22:07, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
