Valvata piscinalis is a species of minute freshwater snail with an operculum, an aquatic gastropod mollusk or micromollusk in the family Valvatidae, the valve snails.

This species occurs in the British Isles and throughout Europe, to Asia Minor and all the way to Tibet.

This small snail is found in streams rivers and lakes, preferring running water and tolerating water with low calcium levels.
