Valerie Kappa

Val Kappa is an American stand-up comedian(born April 28,1978 in Salem, Massachusetts).
She went to Saugus High school where she was voted "Class Clown" and was a member of the National Honor Society. Kappa became involved with the Drama Club in her senior year when she auditioned for the school play. That play would go on to win the Massachusetts High School Drama Festival and be the first time Saugus High School ever won. She won an acting award for physical comedy in the semi-final round of the festival.
She has acted as Clarice, the coffee-house employee in the cartoon Home Movies. In December 2005 she appeared on Comedy Central's "Premium Blend".
Before she began doing stand-up, she performed all around Boston in a snowsuit, as character named Uuna. She felt it was a bit too hot to walk around in summer wearing a snowsuit, so she began stand-up.
Kappa began doing stand-up in Boston while attending Emerson College. She got her stage time at the Comedy Studio and other comedy clubs in Boston. After graduating she moved to New York. She performs nationally at colleges, comedy clubs, theatres and other venues.
Her comedy is deadpan and consists of random observational humor and snippets from her life.
Her mother came to America from Athens, Greece. Her grandparents on her father's side came to America from Lesbos.
