Vale View Shankill F.C. is a soccer club playing in Shankill, County Dublin, Ireland, were formed as Vale View FC in 1923.
After many years in the Wicklow League and the Aul, the highlight being narrowly beaten in the FAI Junior Cup final in 1968 by Finn Harps, they joined the Leinster Senior League in 1979. They appointed former Bohemians and Shelbourne player Dave Mason as coach and enjoyed ten years climbing the LSL, culminating in winning LSL Division 1 and awarded LSL Club of the Year in 1988. They also reached four cup finals in this time, losing them all. Crowds at the time for their games at Quinns Road often ran into hundreds. They reached the first round of the FAI Cup in 1986, losing 0-2 to Monaghan United at the Carlisle Grounds in Bray before a crowd of 545. The club amalgamated with Shankill Youth Club in 1988, moving to the Youth clubs ground at Loughlinstown Hospital. After Dave Mason left, they dropped down into Division 1 but again reached the first round of the FAI Cup, under the clubs former record goalscorer Eddie Horan, losing 0-1 to Rockmount in Stradbrook in 1996. They dropped down into Division 1A in 1997 and challenged for promotion nearly every season. they reached the Moore Cup Final twice, losing in 2002 to CIE Ranch, and Newtown Rangers in 2004. The club presently play in LSL Div 1B. First team manager : Eddie Hayden Saturday tedam player coach : John O'Carroll The club are sponsored by Quinns Pharmacy of Shankill, a member of the McSweeney Group The Club colours are green and white The Current Chairman of the club is Eugene O'Rourke, and John Turner is both the Club Secretary and Treasurer Vale View Shankill have produced a number of players who have gone on to play league football over the years. These include Mick Doohan, who won FAI Cup medals with Bray Wanderers and a Cup and league medal with Dundalk, Pat O’Brien and Ger Byrne (Bray) and Robbie Coyle (Bray and Longford Town).
