A few of the members of the underground metal band Obsolete have roots in this town. Also notable is Duckee Nobody, MySpace celebrity and icon, as well as Felicia Lanza, also known as Mercredi, who is known for her outrageous dress and hair styles, and being the local 'voo-doo queen'. Marie Powers is also a very notable person, as the Powers family has been in Valley Springs for over 100 years. Sarah-Sirrah is also a 'celebrity' in the town and is the leader of an underground cult and known for her superior art skills.

A 'notable people' section within a geographic location article is supposed to list any persons notable to the outside world, not merely persons who are well-known to denizens of that place. Maralia 19:01, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
