Hmm, is that thing about Bridget Jones Diary (which an anon added a while ago) true (the part about the meaning being at all related to Valerie Singleton). The mathematical meaning of singleton preceeds her by century or so. Can someone with an OED check this, as it sounds cute but suspicious. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 01:11, 3 May 2004 (UTC)
