[edit] Meaning of Uzelac
There are two supposed meanings of the surname Uzelac. It's rumored to have rooted from the verb "uzeti" in the South Slavic languages which means "to take". Since most Uzelacs come from part of Croatian areas Lika & Serbian Krajina, the meaning of name Uzelac also supposedly comes from the word "uzel" which in the Serbian language and Croatian language (synonyms: "čvor" or "petlja") means Knot.
