[edit] vandalism

Removed statement "They also believed that the oceans would turn to lemonade once they had accomplished their mission." There was no citation and this appears to be vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.198.130.84 (talk) 17:15, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Statement removal and grammar correction

Removed statement "Utopia is still a blip on the map, where people still live, but it is a shadow of its former self." as this is not a verifiable statement. Also corrected a spelling error. Trinidadiv 23:07, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV

This text reads like a personal experience/story or a blog entry, especially the last line about the memory of the town remaining forever. Needs help to become encyclopedic.

[edit] utopia ohio

I do not know how to make a tilde. Anyways, I think that before talking about the death of the town it might be appropriate to connect the Josiah Warren/Utopia story to this article. I would do it but I don't have the time or the know-how but a link seems appropriate if not a mention.

[edit] Attempted Fix

Okay, I've tried to fix the page up so it would look more like an encyclopedia entry, but I'd like for someone else, preferably an administrator to actually make the judgement call before the "Story" tag is removed. Since this is my first major re-write, any comments/criticism is welcomed. RaiderTarheel 22:12, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed merge

I'm several thousand miles away, but it looks to me that this may be the same place as Utopia (anarchist community)? AllyD 17:44, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

See that article's talk page for the discussion of this question. Nyttend 21:29, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

This topic bears a striking an undeniable resemblence to that of the other Utopia. These similarities should be acknowledged as they seem to relate in an off-camber sort of way.

However I do not support a merger simply because of the of the differences. It is an entire different subject when we revert back to the roots of the other Utopia, founded by followers of Fourier. Though the ideals are similar the roots are not.

What I do support is linking them, giving the other article creedence through the other. I will do this with the Utopia, Ohio page.--The-outlaw-torn 15:44, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] vandalism?

I take great care of this page and am responsible for its creation. I've been through this before with serious wiki users that I know and realize no one can own or be in charge of a page, so take note; that is not what I am saying here. Furthermore, the removed comment on lemonade by the unamed user was unwarranted. If he would have done a little researching of his own, he would have found that this is a viable and citable fact. In the future i would ask people to please check before eroniously deleting information. This snippet is one of several things that I found interesting on this topic, and I felt that it should be included.

  • Note: I did take the liberty of actually citing that reference.
