USU AG is an internationally active [1] software and IT solutions provider for Business Service Management and Knowledge Management. The USU Group consists of USU Software AG as well as several German and foreign subsidiaries, among them USU AG. Long-standing partnerships link USU with market leaders in all areas of the economy. USU was founded in 1977 as Udo Strehl Unternehmensberatung [3] and is headquartered in Möglingen / Stuttgart, Germany. USU has been involved in IT management since 1988. Since 1995, knowledge management has been a special feature of USU’s range of services. The company, which was first listed on the stock exchange on July 4, 2000, currently has some 250 employees (March 2008). To expand its product portfolio, the USU took over OMEGA GmbH in 2005 and LeuTek GmbH in 2006. [4]

- Valuemation
Valuemation is an integrated line of products for business service management conforming to the guidelines of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). It consists of modules for IT asset and license management, IT procurement, IT budgeting and service-cost allocation, for service and change management as well as service level management. With Valuemation, companies obtain a comprehensive overview of their IT processes and IT infrastructure, allowing them to transparently chart, track, allocate and actively manage their IT costs. - KnowledgeCenter
USU KnowledgeCenter is a product line for the intelligent provision of information in knowledge-intensive business processes. [9] The USU Knowledge Center software modules USU KnowledgeMiner, USU KnowledgeBase and USU KnowledgeGuide are used in areas like enterprise search, as a knowledge database for call centers and service desks or as knowledge portals. In addition, a thorough and comprehensive integration of self-learning mechanisms is a one of the central features of USU systems. The search process employed by the USU KnowledgeMiner makes use of visualized semantic topic mapping (topic maps), a mechanism that received an international patent (no. 1064606) in 2001.
