USS Gurnard

Two ships of the United States Navy have borne the name USS Gurnard, named in honor of the gurnard, a trigloid fish having three free pectoral rays, a food fish of the genus Trigla. The striped gurnard inhabits the South Atlantic.
- The first Gurnard, (SS-254), was a Gato-class submarine, commissioned in 1942 and struck in 1961.
- The second Gurnard, (SSN-662), was a Sturgeon-class submarine, commissioned in 1968 and struck in 1995.
