Sergeant Earl M. Day, HML/A-167 crew chief instructor and Amesbury, Ma., native, fires the GAU-17 weapon system from a UH-1N “Huey.” The GAU-17, a six-barrel Gatling gun, can fire up to 3,000 rounds per minute.
