A Marine talks a terrified Chamorro woman and her children into leaving her refuge. The Marine pictured in this image is Lt. Robert B. Sheeks, who served as an Intelligence and Japanese Language Officer throughout the Pacific campaigns. More about him and his wartime experience can be read about in the book, "Pacific Legacy" by Rex Alan Smith and Gerald A. Meehl.
