[edit] Flusher
Originally called Flusher, it was realised early on in his career that this would lead people to think his music should be flushed down the toilet. He tried out Blusher, Slusher and even Total Nobend before hitting on his trademark name. An usher is someone who shows people to their seats. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.198.237.185 (talk) 13:42, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
This article needs serious cleanup, from tag fixing to grammatical errors and such. Ohyeahmormons 13:58, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- I totally agree. It sounds like a fan page. Southerngyrl20 17:51, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Can someone PLEASE change that picture... it looks wierd. Who is Rebecca lauren.
- Agreed. I've just removed a load of spurious commas! Katstevens 19:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. It's got him tagged as an American Scientologist. I'm pretty sure that's not true. Dmacg99 (talk) 02:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Maybe we should be alittle respectful too and when mentioning his father say the "late Usher Raymond III" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Climberprideon3 (talk • contribs) 06:41, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Change that picture —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.172.87.236 (talk) 13:34, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Poetic Justice
Young Usher also had a song at the soundtrack for movie "Poetic Justice"(with 2Pac and Janet Jackson). It should be added.Dzoni 16:37, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, what song was it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.145.57.166 (talk • contribs)
- According to the AOL Music Archive, it's called "Call Me a Mack". Other than that I have no further details. --AndreniW 22:59, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
I'd like to see Usher's page have the release date of his video podcast (and possibly a link to it???) The launch date is the same day as his new album is being released, May 27th. Here is an excerpt: "It's not all VIP's and red carpet events! Learn more about what it takes to be a successful sports and entertainment business leader. Usher's uCast series is designed to expose it's viewers to the behind-the-scenes part of the multi-billion dollar entertainment industry!" Thanks for the consideration! [edit] Personal life
Usher is a 2007 Georgia Music Hall of Fame Inductee. He is the youngest person to ever receive this honor. Ray Charles, the first Georgia Hall of Fame Inductee, has stated that this was one of his greatest achievements. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.193.138 (talk) 09:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
There should be more about Usher's personal life, I believe. Except for a little something about his youth, there is not much info. I wanted to know if the song 'Confessions' was real or not, but I can't find it here.--Soetermans 07:49, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Me too. I always wondered if it was real and he really had a kid or not.
-
- My thoughts exactly.--Soetermans 08:37, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Confessions is not real. He already stated it on 106 & Park a while back that he did it to see how many records he would sell and it was a success. But I did hear that the reason he & Chilli of TLC split is cuz he got caught up in his game w/ ANOTHER MALE. But Chilli said it's something bad but she'd never tell. Unfortunately...it leaked. Who is this other male your talking about.
The article states that Usher attended Hayes Bridge Middle School, but I know for a fact (because I went there too) that he went to Sandy Springs Middle School in Atlanta, Ga. That should be corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.56.61.214 (talk) 02:22, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Location
why is this at Usher (entertainer) instead of Usher (artist) or Usher (singer) ?? if there is no (reasonable) objection then i will move it.. (or someone else can..) ~Bungalowbill
He is also a dancer and an actor. Therefore an entertainer.
He is more than a singer. He entertains. Why do you have a problem with that word?Maersayer (talk) 01:46, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Move?
As per WP:NCP, should this page be moved to Usher Raymond? Though he is commonly known as simply "Usher", only "Usher Raymond" meets the naming conventions. In WP:NCP, it clearly states that the name shall follow the format <first name> <last name> which simply "Usher" does not follow. Please reply if I am misunderstanding the naming conventions. Thanks!

Usher (entertainer)→Usher Raymond?
- I support the proposed move. Few, if any, people are likely to search for him as wiki/Usher (entertainer)... -- Greaser 08:23, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose I believe Usher's situation is just like Madonna. He goes by the one name and it's the most likely term people will use to find him. Granted they have to go through a disambig page first, but so does Madonna. Metros232 13:09, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Maybe you should make this page just "Usher" and when it loads have under the title, a link to the disambiguation page
[edit] Unreleased Albums
I was wondering if we should include Usher's unreleased albums, "Sex Appeal", "And The Winner Is..." and "All About U". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.181.105.229 (talk) 01:58, 11 February 2007 (UTC).
We should but aren't those just unreleased singles?74.195.5.83 19:56, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
I think we should put Sex Appeal...Manesh (talk) 04:37, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Myboo.JPG
Image:Myboo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey its says that the album is sceduled for release this mounth which seems now at least impossible, not even a single has been released yet so clearly though wont be an album til 08. Realist2 09:01, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
His wife said he cannot release it, or they will break up. Manesh (talk) 04:38, 9 December 2007 (UTC) Ilove you usher! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.49.58.103 (talk) 00:28, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- I just deleted the extra ! as they are strething the screen & really unneccessary. Mahalo. 70.108.96.29 (talk) 00:00, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fix the confessions section
In this section, there is the clause not only, but the 2nd part of the clause isnt there thsu the sentence is incomplete. Since the page is locked I'm unable 2 do anything. The sentence needs to be corrected. Mahalo. 70.108.96.29 (talk) 00:04, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Here I Stand Release Date
Does anyone else see an issue with the release date for Here I Stand being listed in this article as a tentative June 8,2008 release? How Likely is it that it would not be a tuesday release? Making it June 10 or June 3 in retro. Can someone verify and clean this up?Jjkayes (talk) 12:17, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Scientology
Is he one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.84.108.12 (talk) 21:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Word has it that he's a Scientologists, can anyone add such info? --70.153.218.30 (talk) 16:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Yep, this needs to be removed if no one can find any proof of this. 98.194.237.126 (talk) 04:03, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Usher is christian, thats how his parents raised him. Pretty much as long as he doesn't move to hollywood he wont be one.
[edit] Recentism
Please dont add every little of every little think he does over the next few months. Most of it is not a major aspect of his life and is recentism. --— Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 22:39, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] US Records
I have merged US Records here because as an independent subject, it is not sufficiently [[WP:N|notable], seems unimportant except in reference to Usher, fits well in this article, and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere to make it worth waiting for more content. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 09:45, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
