Thanks for this essential chart! Two comments:

There's now what I take to be an unintentional artifact at the left upper margin of the chart.

Also, I suggest unobtrusive but legible vertical grid lines (white or gray?) to aid in reading the stats in context of their specific years. (Otherwise, some may have to resort to using a ruler, etc., to correlate them with other historical settings and events.) --Figsyrup 18:20, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
