Here's a place I'll document various possibilities for fixing RFA. Any possibility may be listed here, regardless of feasibility or workability, this is just to get ideas flowing.
[edit] Ways to select admins
- Consensus, as judged by bureaucrats
- A democratic vote, majority rules
- A committee (WP:CABAL) handpicks admins
- Admins can give other editors admin rights (like rollback is currently done)
- Set up some sort of hierarchy (like a Monarchy)
- Randomization
- Some sort of a test, passing it gains adminship
[edit] Ways to fix RFA
- Change the percentage required for a candidate to pass
- Required editor reviews on a regular basis
- Required reconfirmation RFAs
- Required inclusion in Admins Open For Recall
- Give bureaucrats the ability to desysop
- Get rid of it. Debundle the tools in similar fashion as rollback, granting tools individually to established users case by case
