MediaWiki talk:Userstatstext
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page currently reads "We have $1 registered user accounts, of which $2 (or $4%) belong to administrators." Does this make sense to anyone?? Lucas42 03:23, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- The '$' figures are variables. If you look at Special:Statistics you will see the results of this page shown in the 'User Statistics' section. --CBDunkerson 10:37, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Belong to …
The wording in the messages is wrong. It says that "We have $1 registered user accounts, of which $2 (or $4%) belong to administrators." However, admins, like anyone else, can have several accounts – for instance, has (AFAIK) at least 13 accounts (of which only one, his main account, is an admin, and 11 are bots and one is a test account). They still belong to an admin, but aren't counted as such. The text on this page should simply read "of which $2 (or $4 %) are administrators", which is the simpler and more correct way of putting it. Jon Harald Søby 14:03, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

- I think it's just that a percentage of the accounts (rather than people) are admin accounts. Plus, I'm sure many of the vandals have multiple accounts too, so it all balances out in the end :D --h2g2bob 13:15, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

- How is it "more correct" to claim that user accounts are administrators? —David Levy 13:34, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WikiCharts
{{editprotected}} Can the WikiCharts links be made for the Article namespace only, to get rid of Special:Search, etc from the top of the list. Changing ns=alle to ns=articles in the URL should do this. --h2g2bob 13:13, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Done. I concur - most people are probably interested in just the articles' viewing stats. Awyong J. M. Salleh 16:04, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] mediawiki:statistics-footer
The bottom of mediawiki:Userstatstext message should be moved to newly introduced appropriate mediawiki:statistics-footer message.--AlefZet 06:26, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Protected edit request
Remove the non-functional WikiCharts links. They can be restored when the pages work again, if ever. Thanks -- 81.129.47.109 22:15, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
